LINCOLN, Neb. (Duhawks.com) - The Loras softball team traveled Storm Lake to face their first in-conference opponent Nebraska Wesleyan. The Duhawks were defeated in the double-header by scores of 2-1 and 3-2.
Game 1
• Both teams remained scoreless in the second inning
• Nebraska Wesleyan equalized in the third inning to bring the score even at 1-1
• The Prairie Wolves capped off game one with a run in the sixth inning off of a wild pitch to win 2-1
Game 2
• Gerbig drove in Lentine to give Loras the 1-0 lead in the first inning
• The Duhawks left the Prairie Wolves scoreless kept their advantage through the fourth inning
• Nebraska Wesleyan tallied three runs in the fourth to take the lead 3-1
• Noely Baumann single in the seventh inning brought in Madison Franks but it wasn't enough as the Prairie Wolves took the second game 3-2
NOTABLES
• Lentine leads the Duhawks with 22 runs scored and 26 hits
• Baumann just one away from 10 stolen bases this season
