133# | Brice Everson | 16-4
In his first season with the Duhawks, Everson qualified for nationals with a second place finish at the regional tournament. The junior has won 10 of his last 11 matches, the lone loss coming against Wartburg's Brock Rathbun in the regional final. Everson is 4-3 this season against the rest of the 133# qualifiers with wins over Rathbun, Josh Stenger of UW-La Crosse, Yoseph Borai from Stevens and Chase Petty of Central. In Session I, Everson opens against Taylor Ki Dial (15-8) from Mercant Marine, who qualified out of the Mideast Regional with a third place finish.
141# | Clint Lembeck | 10-4
Making his return to the national stage, Lembeck looks to improve on his freshman year performance where he placed fifth back in 2017. Lembeck won the Lower Midwest Regional with a victory over Chris Williams of Millikin, 5-2. Like Everson, Lembeck is 10-1 in his last 11 matches with his only loss coming to top-ranked and top-seeded Troy Stanich, 7-5. Against the rest of the bracket, Lembeck is 4-2 with a pair of wins over Wartburg's (7) Brady Fritz along with wins over (6) Williams and Joseph Ferinde from Johnson & Wales. Lembeck opens against No. 10 Evan Drill (28-7) from NYU, who qualified out of the Northeast Regional with a second place finish.
149# | Kevin Kelly | 29-5
Now a two-time national qualifier, Kelly made the most of a late-season lineup adjustment, moving from 141# to 149#. Kelly earned his spot with a second place finish, dropping the regional title to Wartburg's Kris Rumph by decision, 3-0. The senior from Covina, Calif. is 4-2 since moving to 149# full-time, three of which came at the regional. Since joining the program as a junior college transfer, Kelly is 56-13. Against the rest of the 149# bracket, Kelly is 2-4, scoring wins over Rumph earlier this season and Hayden Schlough of UW-La Crosse. Kelly finds himself in a pigtail to start the tournament, facing top-seeded and top-ranked Da'mani Burns (30-4) from Johnson & Wales. Burns took second at the Northeast Regional, conceding via medical forfeit in the final.
157# | Brandon Murray | 21-4
Former Iowa Central junior college transfer, Murray punched his ticket to his first NCAA Championship with a second place finish at the regional, falling to top-seeded and top-ranked Cross Cannone of Wartburg, 6-2. Out of Murray's last 12 matches heading into this weekend's championship, he's won 10, with his two losses coming to Cannone. Murray is 3-2 against the bracket, posting two wins against Millikin's Bradan Birt and a win by decision over UW-La Crosse's Grant Zamin. Murray's trek begins in a pigtail matchup against Jared Lough (41-5) from Averett. Lough was the No. 3 seed in the Southeast Regional, falling in the final by decision to Lycoming's Trevor Corl.
165# | Eddie Smith | 26-4
After losing by sudden-victory in his last two regionals, including a loss in last year's third place match, Smith made sure he wouldn't be denied a third time. In fact, Smith took home the regional title thanks to a 9-0 major decision over Buena Vista's Brad Kerkhoff. Smith is one of two Loras qualifiers this season to have 20 wins in each of his first three seasons, totaling 69 heading into the weekend. Against the bracket, Smith is 4-2 over his three seasons. As the No. 5 seed, Smith begins his tournament against Jared Walker (31-3) from Washington & Jefferson. Walker was the runner-up at the Southeast Regional, falling in sudden victory to Nicholas Racanelli of Wilkes.
174# | Jacob Krakow | 11-3
Krakow is the third transfer to the Duhawk lineup that qualified for nationals this season, with his arrival coming in January. Once in the Key City, Krakow got right to work, amassing a 10-2 record, with losses coming against Kyle Briggs of Wartburg and Jake Voss of Coe, both of which placed ahead of Krakow at the Lower Midwest Regional. In his third place match, Krakow defeated Nathan Fritz of Central by major decision, 11-3. Krakow scored a win by decision over Voss a year ago, bringing his record against the bracket to 1-2. Krakow opens the tournament against Blake Rosenbaum (30-4) of Ferrum, who was the regional winner by medical forfeit out of the Southeast Regional.
197# | Guy Patron Jr. | 18-2
By the end of the weekend, Patron Jr. has the potential to become one of the most decorated wrestlers in program history, becoming the third three-time All-American and first since Rob Murray and Craig Collins each became three-timers in 2001. Patron Jr. won the Lower Midwest Regional crown with a pin against Keajion Jennings of Millikin. Against the rest of the bracket, Patron Jr. is 5-2, with both losses coming this season to Lance Benick of Augsburg and Riley Kauzlaric of UW-Whitewater. Patron Jr.'s quest towards a national championship begins Zachary Lehman (24-3) from Baldwin Wallace. Lehman was the runner-up from the Central Regional, falling by decision to Antonio McCloud of Mount St. Joseph.
