141# | (4) Clint Lembeck
Bout 265 | vs. (8) David Flynn (Augsburg)
• Rewind two years and it was Flynn and Lembeck who met in the national tournament in La Crosse, Wis.
• Nearly all the scoring in this meeting came in the final period, where Flynn grabbed a reversal 36 seconds into the period
• While Lembeck did manage an escape, it was too little too late, as he fell by a 4-2 decision
• Flynn would eventually claim the national championship with a 4-3 decision over Millikin's Chris Williams
Bout 285 | vs. Evan Drill (NYU)
• In a rematch from the first round, Lembeck made doubly certain that he would advance to the consolation championship, using one takedown with three sets of four near falls to win by tech fall, 16-0
Bout 307 | vs. (2) Ben Brisman (Ithaca)
• Brisman was first to score in the third place match with a takedown at the 1:46 mark
• Just before Brisman earned riding time, Lembeck got his escape
• Before the period was through, Lembeck and Brisman got tied up in another scramble and in the process, Brisman caught a knee from Lembeck that forced Ithaca wrestler into an injury default
• Lembeck finishes his season with a 14-5 record, bringing his career total to 45-18
157# | (5) Brandon Murray
Bout 250 | vs. (8) Grant Zamin (UW-La Crosse)
• After being sent to the consolation bracket on Friday, Murray turned into a man on a mission Saturday, beginning with a 6-2 win over Zamin
• Murray got right to work with a takedown and two near fall in the opening minute and used that quick strike to his advantage
• With an escape and riding time, Murray advanced to the consolation semifinals
Bout 250 | vs. (8) Grant Zamin (UW-La Crosse)
• In a rematch from the regional semifinal (4-3 Murray), jumped all over Birt from the start with four takedowns in the first period
• Three of Birt's four points came via escape with the other coming on a hands to the face call
Bout 313 | vs. (1) Cross Cannone (Wartburg)
• Like his consolation semifinal was a rematch, so too was his matchup with top-seeded Cross Cannone who suffered an upset to fourth-seeded Antwon Pugh from Mount Union in the championship semifinal
• Cannone started early and kept the pressure on Murray, who was unable to score other than an escape
165# | (5) Eddie Smith
Bout 252 | vs. (8) Austin Whitney (Ithaca)
• Unfortunately for Whitney, he found himself in between Smith and a series of team points on Saturday morning
• Once Smith got the takedown, things went from good to great with Smith adding two four point near falls along with a point for stalling to take the 11-0 lead into the second
• After three more points in the second period, Smith's escape in the third period sealed the win and earned bonus points for the team standings
Bout 292 | vs. Nick Bonomo (UW-Whitewater)
• After his bonus point win against Whitney, Smith continued his trek through the consolation bracket with a win by decision over Nick Bonomo, 6-3
• Smith was consistent in his scoring, tallying two points in each period, beginning with a takedown 25 seconds into the first
• An escape coupled with an unsportsmanlike conduct call on Bonomo extended Smith's lead to 4-2 heading into the third
Bout 316 | vs. Mark Choinski (UW-Oshkosh)
• Wrestling for third place, it was Smith once again who struck first with a quick takedown ... With less than 90 seconds to go in the period, Choinski scored a reversal to level the match at 2-all
• Choinski took the lead with an escape in the second before taking the lead for good with a takedown late in the third
174# | Jacob Krakow
Bout 254 | vs. (5) AJ Aeberli (Coast Guard)
• Krakow's path through the consolation bracket took a wrong turn in his first bout of the day, suffering a 5-3 defeat to fifth-seeded AJ Aeberli from Coast Guard
• For Krakow, an illegal hands to the face call and riding time proved to be the difference
Bout 321 | vs. (6) Ben Sarasin (Chicago)
• In the seventh place match, sixth-seeded Ben Sarasin held the upper-hand for a majority of the match, scoring takedowns in each period while holding Krakow to only points via escape
197# | (2) Guy Patron Jr.
Bout 278 | vs. (3) Lance Benick (Augsburg)
• In the championship semifinal, Patron Jr. faced one of two wrestlers to have defeated him this season in Lance Benick
• With both wrestlers heavily educated in greco style, neither created much for offense
• Just as it seemed that sudden victory would be the deciding factor, Benick scored a takedown and two near fall inside of the final eight seconds to advance to the final
Bout 298 | vs. (1) Etiini Udott (Centenary)
• With the top-two seeds suffering upsets, Patron Jr. knew he'd have his hands full in the consolation quarterfinal
• Patron Jr. dominated through the opening 4:41 seconds, racking up a 9-0 score on Udott, with Udott being called for stalling three times
• With less than 20 seconds to go, Udott caught Patron Jr. in a reversal and locked up a cradle for the fall
Bout 326 | vs. (7) Taylor Mehmen (Coe)
• Wrestling for fifth place, once again Patron Jr. muscled his way to an early takedown but shortly after conceded a reversal to tie the match at 2-all
• Late in the second period, leading 4-2, Patron Jr. went for a throw and got caught in the process, conceding the fall
