DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Duhawks completed their series against Simpson College on Monday with an 8-5 victory, to conclude the sweep. The Duhawks trailed 5-1, but erupted in the 5th inning to start the comeback. Loras was led by
Robbie Agerbeek who went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
-The Storm took a quick 2-0 lead in the top half of the 1st on a 2-run home run to left field.
-The Duhawks were able to get going early by scoring their first run of the game on a wild pitch in the home half of the inning.
-Simpson added a run in the 3rd on a RBI single to left field, and another run in the 4th on a sacrifice fly.
-Loras got going again in the bottom of the 5th as
Danny Paluch reached on an error with two outs which allowed
Austin Konagel to score.
-With two runners on base, Agerbeek hit a ball over the left center wall to tie the game at 5-5.
-In the bottom of the 7th, the Duhawks got the offense going again as
Cole Thompson singled in Konagel, and later, two runs scored on wild pitches to give Loras an 8-5 lead.
