SAINT JOSEPH, Minn. (September 13, 2019) - The No. 16 Loras College men's soccer team improved to 5-0-1 on the season after defeating St. John's University, 2-0, on Friday, Sept. 13.
Mark Histed and
Mark Broderick led Loras in shots with three a piece. The Duhawks ended with a 16-11 shot advantage nine of which were on goal.
Tigrio Huerta opened up the scoring in the 6th minute thanks to
Raudel Fierro's free kick from outside the right corner box to give the Duhawks the 1-0 lead. After the break, Loras added a second goal in the 58th minute when Histed sent a free kick from 40 yards out to find the head of
Patrick Clancy for his first goal of the season.

Jesse Buffington stepped up to tally four saves in today's contest.
Loras (5-0-1) stays in Minnesota to face non-conference opponent St. Olaf College on Sunday, Sept. 15. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
