September 14, 2019 (Duhawks.com) - The Loras College women's volleyball team finished 2-1 at their final home tournament of the season. Â
Game 1: UW- La Crosse 3, Loras 1
The Duhawk women's volleyball team fell to UW- La Crosse Saturday afternoon (15-25, 25-21, 32-34, 25-20)
Senior
Kayla Kinney led the Duhawks with 17 kills and two assists, while Libero
Krystal Tranel finished with 16 digs and two assists.Â
Setter
Jessalyn Roling controlled the offense with 40 sets and 9 digs. Senior
Abby Allgeyer finished with 9 kills and 3 digs.Â
UW- La Crosse was led by Emma Lawrence who tallied 21 kills, 2 assists, and 1 service ace.
Loras went on a 2-0 run of their own after halting the Eagles 5-0 run to force a timeout from UW-La Crosse to claim the second set. It wasn't enough as the Eagles claimed the fourth set and the game.
Game 2: Loras 3, Edgewood 2
Loras defeated Edgewood College in a five set thriller (14-25, 25-17, 13-25, 25-15, 15-10), on Saturday evening in the Athletic & Wellness Center to move to 10-3 on the season.Â
Kinney and
Kendra Cave led the Duhawks with nine kills a piece. Allgeyer added seven kills and three digs.
Kelly Boge and
Jackie Alberto also finished with six kills.Â
Krystal Tranel led the Loras in digs with 19 while
Moira Mixan and
Jessalyn Roling added 13 and 8, respectively.Â
Loras will return to action against non-conference opponent Saint Mary's on Friday, Sept. 20. First serve is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.Â
