MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (September 15, 2019) - The No. 16 Loras College men's soccer team defeated St. Olaf 2-0 Sunday evening to improve to 6-0-1 on the season. 

"Took a while for us to get going, we've had a long weekend on the road, said head coach Dan Rothert. "We've been on the road since Thursday, and I am very pleased to come home with two wins."

Loras held a 7-6 shot advantage over the Oles in the first half and finished with a 19-11 advantage. Duhawk keeper Jesse Buffington stepped up to make two saves for the Duhawks. 

Sophomore Forward Silvio Gkizas scored his second goal of the season in the 67th minute thanks to Ian Lenke's cross to give Loras the 1-0 lead. 

In the 71st minute Mitch Gullet scored his first goal of the season and pushed the Duhawks lead to 2-0

Loras (6-0-1) will host non-conference opponent University of Chicago on Friday, Sept. 20 in the Rock Bowl. First kick is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
