September 4, 2019 (Duhawks.com) - The Loras College men's soccer team battled with Benedictine University for a hard fought draw.Â
"We need to finish our chances and not give away set plays," said head coach
Dan Rothert. "We're not shook, we're excited to come out and play tomorrow!"
Benedictine freshman Alex Pillath opened up the scoring in the 21st minute heading the ball passed by Eagle Junior Tomasz Kulak.
Loras equalized off of a Benedictine own goal kicked by the Duhawk goalie.
Mark Histed gave Loras the lead after slicing through a pair of defenders to find the back of the net.
Ben Van Son of Benedictine brought the game even at 2-2 in the 78th minute.Â
Loras finished with a 21-10 shot advantage, five of Loras' shots were on goal.Â
Neither team could find enough legs to score the game-winning goal as the game ended 2-2.
Loras will face non-conference opponent Saint Mary's University on Tuesday, Sept. 4. First kick is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Rock Bowl and links to live in-game coverage can be found
