September 8, 2019 (Duhawks.com) - The No. 21 Loras College women's soccer team defeated the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh 1-0 Sunday afternoon in the Rock Bowl.Â
The Duhawks and Titans were scoreless until the second half when
Emily Robinson found
Jenny Wick for the quick give-and-go to send the ball past the keeper to the center of the net. Â
Eight Duhawks registered shots as Loras led in shots 24-6, tallying 11 in the first half and 13 in the second.
"Great job today to grind out win in tough conditions," said head coach
Matt Pucci. " We could have done better with some chance but defended very well throughout and kept pressing until we found a way to through. "
The Titans best chance of the night came in the second half when Tory Schumann made a strong run to the box. She made it past the Duhawk defenders and fired a shot on goal but Loras keeper
Kaylee Coble was up to the task and saved the day.Â
Loras will travel to face non-conference opponent North Central on Tuesday, Sept. 13. First kick is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.Â
