MOUNT VERNON, Iowa (Jan. 18, 2020)- Giving the varsity a chance to rest ahead of the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) duals, the No. 3 Loras College wrestling team competed in the Cliff Keen / Mike Duroe Invitational at Cornell College and placed fourth with two champions.

The Duhawks saw two wrestlers claim first place as Kirk Mommsen won the 174 lb. weight class defeating University of Wisconsin La Crosse's Nolan Paar by fall in the first period. Brady Vogel was victorious at 184 pounds defeating Cornell College's Bryce Oveson, 8-7.

Wyatt Wriedt earned second place at 285 lbs., Derek Venteicher finished third at 197 lbs. defeating his opponent by fall while Richard Hunter earned third place at 184 lbs. winning by decision 15-10. Dakoda Powell placed fourth at 285 pounds while Colin Murphy, Stevie Lee and Matt Connolly all placed fifth in their weight classes.

The Duhawks resume action at the A-R-C duals hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University matches begin on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 9:00 A.M..
