STORM LAKE, Iowa (Apr. 10, 2021) - The Loras College women's soccer team (5-0-0, 5-0-0 A-R-C) extended their win-streak to five games as the Duhawks went on a scoring frenzy against the Buena Vista University Beavers (0-5-0, 0-5-0 A-R-C). Junior forward
Emily Perhats had a career-high three goals in the match, marking the first hat trick of her career to help catapult the Duhawks to a 9-0 win to stay undefeated on the season.
The Duhawks put up three quick goals within the first ten minutes of the match with the first coming from
Ryleigh O'Brien in the seventh minute for her first goal of the season with Perhats and American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Offensive Player of the Week
Payton McDonnell each notching assists on the play. Perhats added the second goal of the game in the ninth minute of the match, assisted by McDonnell and
Abby Eriksen, and again in the tenth minute for her second goal of the match to give Loras a 3-0 lead.
Caitlin Farrell recorded her second goal of the year just two minutes after Perhats' second goal of the match to take the score to 4-0 after just 12 minutes of play. Eriksen followed suit three minutes later in the 15th minute, adding a goal of her own to give the Duhawks a comfortable five goal lead going into halftime.
In the 50th minute of the match, McDonnell set up a corner kick for the Duhawks and found Perhats on a perfectly placed ball in the box to complete the hat trick on her third goal of the night. Five minutes later,
Erin Rankin scored a goal of her own on another corner taken by McDonnell with
Katie Celarek also earning an assist on the play to give the Duhawks a 7-0 lead.
Paige Diebold and
Kylie Hulsbrink scored their first career goals for the Duhawks in the last ten minutes of the match with Diebold striking in the 83rd minute and Hulsbrink in the 88th, seeing
Kaighin Frost and
Savannah Johnson earn assists on the goal and taking the score to the final 9-0.
The Duhawks hammered the net all night, getting off an impressive 67 total shots in the match with 32 on goal. Eriksen and Perhats led the attack with seven shots each, while 24 different Duhawks got at least one shot off on the night. Perhats led the team with three goals in the match while Farrell, Eriksen O'Brien, Hulsbrink, Diebold and Rankin each notched one apiece.

Hannah Mirimanian came in for the second half. The two had a light night in goal as the
Olivia Lansing and the back line held the Beavers shotless through 90 minutes.
Buena Vista goalkeeper McKeely Tjaden had her work cut out for her in goal for the Beavers, saving 23 of the 32 shots on goal she faced.
Loras is due to return home of Tuesday, Apr. 13 as they welcome the Wartburg College Knights to the Rock Bowl for an American Rivers Conference matchup. The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 PM in Dubuque, Iowa.
