Apr. 11, 2021 – The Loras College women's lacrosse team (5-3, 2-1 MWLC) hosted defending Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) champions Hamline University (4-3, 2-0 MWLC) and celebrated its senior classes for both the 2020 and 2021 seasons on Sunday but the Pipers posted a second-half burst to come away with a 16-7 win inside the Rock Bowl.

Hamline scored the opening goal of the game despite being down a player after an early yellow card but Clare Brunn posted a pair of goals to follow and take a 2-1 lead with 20:16 left to play in the half. The Pipers rattled off four more to lead, 5-2 before Marianne Gleason scored to stop the run with 7:06 left in the half. Hamline closed out the first half with three more goals, pulling ahead 8-3 and came out with a quick goal to open the second half at the 28:56 mark. Gleason sparked a two-goal spurt for the Duhawks as Brunn added another off an assist from senior Katlynne Wolf but Hamline continued to control the half and responded back with five unanswered to lead 15-5 with 3:28 remaining. Gleason scored her third goal of the contest before Wolf found Hannah Medina open for a shot and a goal with under a minute to play, but the Pipers added one last goal in the final nine seconds to come away with a 16-7 victory.

Brunn and Gleason both had three goals and four draw controls while Wolf contributed four assists. Senior Kayla Tilkes tied the program-best seven caused turnovers for the second time this season and added six ground balls. Lydia Phelps played all 60-minutes in goal, making 12 saves and coming up with five ground balls. Senior Leah Hood also recorded one ground ball and one caused turnover in the game.

The Duhawks return home for the final game inside the Rock Bowl of the regular season on Wednesday, Apr. 14, hosting Cornell College. Game time is set for 5 P.M.
