Apr. 14, 2021 – Two seniors on the Loras College football team were honored by the National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society on Wednesday as
Alec Becker and
Walker Even were among the 910 student-athletes representing 255 schools for the class of 2021.
Student-athletes are nominated by their respective institutions and must have completed their final year of eligibility in the 2020 season, attained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, and been starters or significant contributors during their playing careers.
Becker, a native of Pleasant Prairie, Wis. was a two-year letter winner for the Duhawks at quarterback, playing in eight career games. His career best came in the 2019 season when he was 1-1 against Central College on Sept. 28, passing for a 24-yard touchdown. Even, a Gilbertville, Iowa native, played in 19 games in purple and gold, tallying 94 total tackles, 57 of which were solo, and 16.5 tackles for loss. He forced three fumbles in his career and had a career-high 14 tackles against Simpson College on Oct. 20, 2018.
