CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Apr. 16, 2021) - Led offensively by
Brynn Jacobi, who notched two goals in 90 minutes of action, the Loras College women's soccer team (6-1-0, 6-1-0 A-R-C) cruised past the Coe College Kohawks (0-6-0, 0-6-0 A-R-C) in a conference matchup on the road.
The Duhawks wasted little time before putting their first goal in the back of the net in the 14th minute of the match.
Abby Eriksen rifled a shot at Coe goalkeeper Alex Montalbano that came back at the foot of
Ryleigh O'Brien who put the shot away to give the Duhawks a 1-0 lead.
Five minutes later it was Eriksen's turn, as she fielded a pass from
Josie McDermott and tucked a shot past Montalbano for the second goal of the half and her fourth goal of the season.
Jacobi notched her first goal of the game in the 29th minute as a perfect pass from
Payton McDonnell paved the way for Jacobi to get a shot off and give the Duhawks a 3-0 lead.
The fourth goal of the half came from
Jaylen Cangas in the 37th minute, marking the sophomore midfielder's first goal of the year for Loras.
Bella Talbot rounded out the attack in the first half on an assist from McDonnell for her first goal of the season to put the Duhawks up five goals to none going into the locker room at half time.
The lone goal in the second half came by way of Jacobi for her second goal of the match in the 75 minute to secure the 6-0 victory for the Duhawks' sixth win of the season.
The Duhawks ran the match with 39 total shots with 17 of those on goal. Eriksen led the barrage with eight total shots, two on net while McDonnell added six shots of her own. Jacobi posted four shots and two goals while McDonnell had three helpers in the match, bringing her assist total to a conference-leading 13 on the year.

Matt Pucci utilized four keepers in net with
Kyndal Kells putting in 45 minutes with the start before
Brigid Hecht, Hannnah Mirimanian and
Megan Wick all made appearances in the second half. Wick recorded the match's lone save, saving the one shot on goal they faced in the full 90 minutes.
Loras is back in action on Sunday, Apr. 25 as they travel to Indianola, Iowa to face the Simpson College Storm. The match is scheduled to kick off at 2:00 PM at Buxton Stadium.
