NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Sept. 15, 2021) - Opening the season with a 4-0-1 record in non-conference play, the Loras College women's soccer team (5-0-1, 0-0-0 A-R-C) found themselves ranked No. 20 in the United Soccer Coaches national rankings. The Duhawks improved to 5-0-1 Wednesday night as they took on the North Central College Cardinals (2-3-1, 0-0-0 CCIW) with
Kaighin Frost scoring her second goal of the season to secure the Duhawks' second straight win.
Frost entered the game in the 31st minute of the game as substitution, striking a mere 13 seconds after being on the field to catapult the Duhawks to a 1-0 lead where the score stayed through the remainder of the game.
Loras owned the first half of the game, firing off 10 shots and four in the second half to outshoot the Cardinals 14-13. American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Defensive Player of the Week
Kyndal Kells proved her worth in net as she made seven saves in the 90 minutes. Offensively the Duhawks were led by Frost with the goal while
Abby Eriksen took four shots, followed by
Emily Perhats who had three.
Caitlin Farrell added two shots of her own while
Payton McDonnell,
Bella Talbot and
Hannah Schmitz each added one apiece.
The Duhawks are back in action on their home turf as they take on the Titans from Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday, Sept. 18. The game is scheduled to kick off at 5:00 PM at the Rock Bowl.
