Oct. 11, 2022 – Loras College's women's volleyball team got things to click on Tuesday night as the Duhawks made easy work of the Beloit College Buccaneers on their way to a sweep.

The Duhawks (6-15) went deep to their bench as the match went on as the Buccaneers (4-13) lacked the depth they needed to keep pace with the home squad.

Loras sprinted through the first set with a 25-16 win before doing the same in set two as the Duhawks earned a 25-10 victory in the set.

Head coach Kristy Duncan went to her bench for much of the third set with the match securely in hand. Loras closed out the match with a 25-19 victory in a total team effort.

Senior pin James Keefe and freshman Allie Burke each tallied seven kills to lead Loras' balanced attack. A pair of middle blockers in sophomore Cat Gleason and freshman Elaina Schroeder were close behind as they added six kills apiece, marking a new career-high for the latter.

Junior setter Sara Hoskins enjoyed her usual success and reached a new career milestone in the match. With 29 assists, Hoskins became just the fifth Duhawk in program history to accumulate 2,000 kills in her career. After Tuesday's match, she sits alone at fifth all-time with 2,024 career assists.

The Duhawks will get back to A-R-C play on Friday, Oct. 14 when they host Wartburg College at 6 P.M. inside the Lillis Athletic and Wellness Center.
