CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Oct. 19, 2022) – The regular season is winding down and the No. 17/14 Loras College women's soccer team is rolling into the final stage with a ton of confidence after the Duhawks notched yet another shutout in a 7-0 win at Coe College on Wednesday.
The Duhawks (12-0-3, 6-0 A-R-C) won their sixth straight game and their fifth straight via a shutout with Wednesday's win over the Kohawks (1-14-1, 1-6 A-R-C). It's the Duhawks' fourth consecutive shutout in the series as they have not allowed a goal versus Coe since 2018.
Loras took an early lead and never looked back as senior forward
Ryleigh O'Brien put the Duhawks on the board in the game's fourth minute. O'Brien finished off a header chance on corner kick pass served up by senior midfielder
Payton McDonnell, setting the tone for the rest of the match.
Junior forward
Savannah Johnson served a ball up toward the front of the net in the eighth minute and ended but getting a friendly bounce to notcher her first goal of the evening and give the Duhawks a 2-0 lead.

rd minute as McDonnell lobbed another stellar pass toward the goal, setting up senior forward
Abby Eriksen with a header chance of her own.
The first second-half goal came in the 47
th minute as O'Brien got free down the left sideline, then dumped a pass off to Johnson in front of the net, leading to Johnson's second goal of the match. Johnson completed her hat trick with a sizzling shot from the top of the box in the 52nd minute before Eriksen finished one of the best goals of the year with a stellar bicycle kick to the top right corner to make it 6-0 in just the 55
th minute of play.
Loras added one final goal in the 58th minute as junior midfielder
Hannah Schmitz finished a contested shot after a short pass from junior defender
Rylee Quillen.
The Duhawks play their final regular season road match this Saturday, Oct. 22, at Buena Vista University at 1 P.M.
