STORM LAKE, Iowa (Apr. 1, 2022) - The No. 16 Loras College baseball team (20-2, 4-2 A-R-C) continued their stretch of road games to open American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) action on Friday night as they took on the Buena Vista University Beavers (11-7, 3-1 A-R-C). The Duhawks fed the Beavers their first conference loss of the season in a pitchers' duel between Davis Pasco and Buena Vista's Morgan Smith that saw a scoreless game until the fifth inning as the Duhawks secured the 1-0 win, marking their fourth-straight victory in less than a week's time.

The two pitchers held both sides in check through the first five innings, seeing the Duhawks record just three hits in the game until the top of the fifth inning as Ryan Wohlers hit a double to left field with an out in the inning before moving on to third on a Joe Egan groundout. With Wohlers in scoring position and two outs on the side, freshman Max McCallum rifled an RBI single to bring home Wohlers for the lone run of the game.

Pasco dished a no-hitter through the seventh inning and gave up the Beavers' only two hits in the bottom of the eighth inning while striking out five in his 7.1 innings on the mound. Ethan Peters came in at relief with bases loaded and only one out in the inning, getting out of the jam to keep the Beavers off the board and earning his sixth save of the season.

The Duhawks' bats had eight hits in the game and were led by Daniel Rogers and Egan, who both had two hits in the game while McCallum recorded the game's only RBI while going 1-for-3 at the plate.

The series continues in Storm Lake on Saturday, Apr. 2 with a midday doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
