Jan. 29, 2023 – Loras College wrestling hosted student-athletes from 17 different schools at the 2023 Pat "Flash" Flanagan Open on Saturday, and the Duhawks saw 10 individuals earn top-six finishes in their respective weight class brackets.
Senior
Matt Connolly came the closest to claiming a bracket title on Saturday as he won his first four bouts before falling in the 165-lb championship. Connolly started his day with a pin of Central College's Julian Rodriguez to set the stage for three more wins before matching up with the University of Iowa's Aiden Riggins.
Connolly ultimately fell to his Division I opponent by major decision, but he finished as the only Duhawk to make a championship match on Saturday.
