DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's soccer team toppled the University of Dubuque, 4-1, to earn its third conference victory on Homecoming inside the Rock Bowl.
This week's A-R-C Offensive Player of the Week,
Savannah Johnson, put the Duhawks on the board at the 9:44 mark with her first goal of the night off an assist from
Bella Talbot.
Talbot netted a goal of her own less than nine minutes later off a quick pass sequence from teammates
Julia Neary and Johnson.
Loras (10-1-0 overall, 3-0-0 A-R-C) held a 2-0 lead over Dubuque at the half.
Talbot connected with Johnson once again in the 57
th minute to give the Duhawks a comfortable 3-0 lead, however, just five minutes later Emerson Wilson found the back of the net off a pass from Emma Kober to help the Spartans cut the lead to two.
Johnson completed the hat trick with her final goal of the contest with under four minutes left to play off an assist from
Katie Callahan.
The purple and gold totaled 19 shots and put 10 of them on target, while Dubuque (7-3-1 overall, 2-1-1 A-R-C) took eight shots altogether and put six on frame.
Kyndal Kells earned the win in goal for Loras with five saves.
Up Next: The Duhawks travel to Waverly, Iowa to take on Wartburg College on Oct. 10. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
