DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's soccer team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament after a dominant 4-0 victory over Lake Forest College in round one on Saturday afternoon.
The Duhawks raced out to a 2-0 lead over the Foresters in the first eight minutes of the game.
Savannah Johnson put her head on a corner kick pass from
Reagan Lindsay into the back of the net at the 1:22 minute-mark, while
Bella Talbot added in the second Loras goal just over seven minutes later off an assist from
Julia Neary.
Johnson netted the final goal of the first half at 17:47 to extend the Duhawks lead to 3-0 at the midway point.
Katie Callahan got in on the scoring action with a goal of her own at the 61:07 mark off a pass from Johnson.
Loras (17-1-1) totaled 17 shots, putting eight of them on goal, while Lake Forest recorded four shots, putting just one of them on target.
