DUBUQUE, Iowa – Following a performance in which he set a school record with five touchdown receptions, Loras College football's
Mani Brown has been named to the D3Football.com Team of the Week following the Duhawks' 82-16 victory over Simpson College.
Brown complemented the five touchdowns by totaling nine receptions for 250 yards, which put him at 83 catches on the season and helped him break the single-season reception record for catches, a record that was previously set at 82 by assistant coach
Jon Powers during the 2016 season.
For Brown, the award is just another during his stellar junior season. The Fort Meyers, Fla. native has earned American Rivers Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors twice this season, in addition to having set the school record for the most touchdown receptions in a single season. Heading into the final week of the regular season, Brown has totaled 83 catches for 1,079 yards, and 20 touchdowns. To complete the trifecta of seasonal records that he could break, Brown needs 214 yards on Saturday to own the single season record for pass reception yards, as Nate Evens holds the record with 1,292 set in 2014.
Loras (5-4 overall, 4-3 A-R-C) look to finish out the season strong on the road this Saturday, Nov. 11 against the Coe College Kohawks at 1 p.m.
