ROCHESTER, N.Y. (May 27, 2023) – The 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships came to close on Saturday after three days of exceptional competition, and the Loras College men's track and field program finished in a tie for 25
th place to cap off anther outstanding season.
The Duhawks had their best day of the three on Saturday as a pair of 800-meter runners capped off their weekend with podium finishes and All-America honors. Senior

Carter Oberfoell each transferred into the finals in Friday's preliminary round, which secured them All-America status.
On Saturday, Jasa came home as the national runner-up to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) Ryan Wilson for the second straight season. Jasa led at the bell but could not hold off Wilson's push down the home stretch as the winner clocked a 1:48.17 to Jasa's 1:48.97.
Oberfoell snagged the final transfer spot on Friday and improved one spot to finish seventh in Saturday's finals with a 1:51.34. It's his second straight season earning an All-America honor in this race after placing eighth in 2022.
That duo finished as the only two Duhawks to podium over the weekend as they accounted for all 10 team points.
Other action of the final day included seniors
Matt Bandy and
Ray Venditti taking on the high jump, with the duo finishing in 18th and 19th places, respectively. They each had a best clearance of 1.97 meters that they each managed on their third and final attempts.
Finally, junior
Holden Murphy took on the hammer throw in his second event of the week, where his first toss of 55.94 meters earned him a 14th-place finish.
