DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's soccer team opened up conference play with a 6-0 victory over Buena Vista on Senior Day inside the Rock Bowl.
Savannah Johnson got the Duhawks on the board in the 11
th-minute of play when she connected with a
Bella Talbot pass to put the ball in the back of the net.
Athena Sheets netted the final goal of the first half at the 34:50 mark to give Loras a 2-0 lead at the midway point.
Julia Neary gave the Duhawks a 3-0 lead with a goal of her own off a pass from Johnson and less than three minutes later,
Katie Callahan joined in on the scoring action finishing a pass from Neary to tally the fourth goal of the contest.
Reagan Lindsay and
Emily Surma scored one goal apiece just seven minutes apart to help the Duhawks cruise to their first A-R-C victory.
Loras (7-1-0 overall, 1-0 A-R-C) totaled 36 shots and put 15 of them on frame, the Beavers (3-5-0, 0-1 A-R-C) recorded two shots but were unable to put one on target.
Up Next: The Duhawks travel to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Wednesday, Sept. 27 for a midweek non-conference showdown. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
