DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's volleyball team posted a 1-1 record at its own triangular, defeating Grinnell College 3-2, before falling in straight sets to Augustana College on Friday inside the Lillis Athletic and Wellness Center.

The Duhawks dropped back-to-back sets by scores of 22-25 and 23-25 but rallied back to take the match with three consecutive set victories.
Loras (8-9 overall, 0-1 A-R-C) trailed 7-8 early in the third set but went on a 6-0 run to give them a 13-8 lead. The Duhawks would maintain the lead for the remainder of the set to take set three 25-23.
Both squads worked hard for every point in the fourth and fifth sets with no team leading by more than four in either set. Loras came out on top in the fourth set by a score of 25-22 and completed the reverse sweep with a 15-13 victory in set five.
Grinnell (7-8 overall, 0-0 Midwest) was led by Jenna Keller who tallied 16 kills and 17 digs. Following closely behind was Hayley Taka who put down 15 kills and Keira Sullivan who finished with 10 kills of her own. Emily Brewer racked up 47 assists, while Sophie Weber recorded a team-high 28 digs for the Pioneers in the loss.
Sophie Younkin led the Duhawk offense, putting down 17 kills.
Autumn Finch chipped in 14 kills as well, while
Elaina Schroeder added in 10 kills and five blocks.
Sara Hoskins totaled 55 assists, while
Jenna Bistline tallied 24 digs in the win for Loras.
Augustana 3, Loras 0
Augustana (12-4 overall, 1-2 CCIW) swept the Duhawks by scores of 25-19, 25-15 and 25-16.
Younkin led Loras offensively once again totaling 11 kills and 10 digs. Schroeder contributed seven digs, while
Alexis Woltman and Finch put down five kills apiece in the loss. Hoskins dished out 25 assists as well for the Duhawks. As a team, the purple and gold hit .142, which featured 34 kills and 17 errors in 120 attempts.
The Vikings were led by Emily Schipper who finished with 14 kills. Syd Krueger chipped in seven kills, while Amelie Baehr-Ross totaled 22 assists for Augustana. Grace Vranicar also recorded a game-high 20 digs in the win. As a team, the Vikings hit .257, finishing with 41 kills and 12 errors in 113 attempts.
