INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Loras College women's volleyball team came up short against Simpson College, falling 1-3 to the Storm inside Cowles Fieldhouse on Friday night.
Simpson (5-14 overall, 1-1 A-R-C) took set one by a score of 25-22, but the Duhawks evened the match to one set apiece with a dominant 25-11 victory in set two.
The Storm secured their first A-R-C win of the season after taking set three 25-21 and set four 25-13.
Loras (8-11 overall, 0-2 A-R-C) was led by
Sophie Younkin who put down 13 kills.
Autumn Finch followed closely behind with nine kills, while
Alexis Woltman chipped in five kills in the loss.
Sara Hoskins dished out 28 assists, while
Cat Meyer tallied a team-high 10 digs for the Duhawks. As a team, Loras hit .206 which featured 39 kills and 17 errors in 107 attempts.
Emily Williams led the Storm offense with 10 kills. Blayne Koster chipped in nine kills, while Jada Schmidt totaled seven kills in the win. Iman Ghalibaf totaled a game-high 13 digs, while teammate Morgan DenBeste tallied 28 assists for Simpson. As a team, the Storm hit .158 finishing with 40 kills and 22 errors in 114 attempts.
