PELLA, Iowa – The Loras College women's volleyball team fell in straight sets to the Central College Dutch on Saturday afternoon inside the P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium.
The Duhawks dropped set one and two by scores of 21-25 and 17-25 and nearly forced a fourth set by sending the third game into extra points. The purple and gold were unable to come out on top in the end falling 25-27.
Leading the Loras (8-12 overall, 0-3 A-R-C) offense was
Sophie Younkin who finished with eight kills and eight digs.
Elaina Schroeder added in six kills, while
Autumn Finch and
Patrycja Jarzabek chipped in four kills apiece in the loss.
Sara Hoskins totaled 20 assists and tallied a team-high 11 digs for the Duhawks.
Gracie Pierson led the way for the Dutch putting down 10 kills and recording 12 digs. Leslie Snow contributed eight kills, while teammate Gracie Daniels posted seven kills for Central (15-4 overall, 2-1 A-R-C). Avery Rexroat dished out 33 assists, while Elyse Johnson totaled five blocks in the win.
