DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's basketball team fell short against the No. 8-ranked Titans of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon inside the Lillis Athletic and Wellness Center.
In the first quarter, the game was back-and-forth but ultimately the Titans had a 13-10 lead going into the second quarter.
The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (2-0 overall) kept the lead and never looked back. Sammi Beyer, the lone double-digit scorer, led the Titans with 14 points and two rebounds, while Alex Rondorf and Paige Seckar added nine points apiece. Claire Wagner led the Duhawks offensively, scoring 11 points and securing nine rebounds on the day for Loras (0-2).
Lexi Beier contributed seven points, while
Silvana Scarsella and
Kylie Rigby chipped in six points each. As a team, the Duhawks shot 28.9 percent from the field (13-45) and 18 percent from beyond the arc (3-16).
Up Next: The Purple and Gold travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. to compete in the Hope College Tournament. They are set to take on the host on Friday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m., followed by a contest against Calvin University on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m.
