DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's soccer team shutout St. Catherine University, 3-0, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday afternoon inside the Rock Bowl.
Just 12 minutes into the match,
Savannah Johnson scored her 17
th goal of the season off assists from Isabel Russman and
Lauren Riggle.
Three minutes later Johnson would cash in again netting her second goal of the night off a corner kick from
Reagan Lindsay.
Johnson completed the hat trick in the 35
th minute putting a cross that was sent into the box from
Emerson Gasmann into the back of the net.
Loras (20-0-0) outshot St. Catherine (14-3-4) 12 to four, five of which landed on frame for the Duhawks compared to the two for the Wildcats.
Kyndal Kells had two saves on the night and helped Loras secure its 18
th shutout of the season.
