DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's soccer team battled to a penalty shootout victory over Carleton College Sunday afternoon.
Loras (21-0-1) controlled the offensive zone and generated many chances to take the lead over Carleton (14-2-7) but could not get one to find the back of the net.
The Duhawks outshot the Knights 24-4, 13 of which were on target compared to the one on frame for Carleton.
Physicality was on full display as both teams were looking to score, resulting in 15 fouls for each team over the course of the match.
After a 0-0 draw in regulation, the game would then go into two scoreless overtimes, followed by a penalty kick shootout.
Kyndal Kells recorded one save on the night and came up big in penalty kicks as she recorded one save against a Carleton shooter.
