Football Lands Four on All-Conference Team

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Four members of the Loras College football team earned spots on American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) All-Conference teams as released by the league office on Friday afternoon.

Senior, Brandon Phelps, grabbed Second-Team Defense honors after a standout season as a veteran linebacker for the Duhawks. Phelps ranked fourth on the team in total tackles (58) but led the Purple and Gold in solo tackles (44). The Morris, Ill. native added a pair of interceptions, quarterback hurries, sacks and forced fumbles to his stat line, while also registering 7.5 tackles for loss for 39 yards. This is the first All-Conference recognition of Phelps' career.

Defensive back, Cormaic Flynn, offensive lineman, Justin Hayes and tight end, Jacob Tedrow all garnered Honorable Mention status.

Flynn tied for a team-high two interceptions on the year, while also recording 14 tackles and five pass breakups. The Monmouth, Ill. native was a key member of the special teams squad as well, totaling eight kickoff returns for 283 total yards and one touchdown.

Tedrow had a breakout junior season becoming one of the top options for the Duhawk offense. The Chatham, Ill. native tallied 295 yards on 32 receptions for four touchdowns on the year.

Flynn and Tedrow earn this distinction for the first time in their careers, while Hayes is a two-time Honorable Mention honoree.

The offensive line benefitted from Hayes' experience and leadership in all 10 contests this season. The Norwalk, Iowa native helped the Duhawks rack up 2,982 yards of total offense this season, which included 994 yards on the ground.
