DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's basketball team secured its first win of the season after defeating Millikin University Friday evening at Lillis Court.
Claire Wagner paced the Duhawks in points as she led the team with 14 while grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out one assist on the night.
Rounding out the double-digit scorers for Loras (1-4, 0-0 A-R-C) came by way of
Kylie Rigby and
Emerson Whittenbaugh who both put down 10 points apiece. Rigby secured three rebounds along with one steal and a block. Whittenbaugh earned four rebounds, two steals, and one assist.
Silvana Scarsella scored eight points in the match, had 10 rebounds and dished out seven assists.
As a team, the Duhawks shot 48 percent from the field (24-50), 58.3 percent from the free throw line (7-12), and from beyond the arc 37.5 percent (9-24).
For Millikin (1-3, 0-0 CCIW) Emily White, the lone double-digit scorer, led the offense with 12 points while earning five rebounds, two steals and one assist. Matayia Tellis added nine points, while Christina Rice, Bella Dudley, and Tatum Young all added six points respectively.
As a team the Big Blue shot 34.5 (20-58) percent from the field, 25 percent from behind the arc (4-16), and 100 percent from the foul line (7-7).
