DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's wrestling team held their first home dual in program history against Buena Vista Thursday evening at Lillis Athletic and Wellness Center.
Freshman,
Alyssa Seippel got the crowd going as she kicked off the night in the 131-lbs weight class with a fall over the Beavers' Breanna Angus.
In the 145-lbs,
AvaBlue McDermott took down Kayeleigh Bowden by a fall securing 10 points for the Duhawks.
Isabella Baer would win the 180-lbs division as Buena Vista would not have anyone to compete, which would result in a forfeit.
Sofia Meza and
Bailey Welu were the final two Duhawks to compete, both would fall short as Meza fell short to Aroura Preston by way of tech fall and Welu would come up short by a fall to Evelyn Kramer.
The final score would be Loras 15, Buena Vista 29.
