MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - The Loras College men's wrestling team put itself back in the win column tonight, beating Cornell College, 26-18.
Freshman
Connor Fiser grabbed a 4-1 decision win at 125 lbs to start the dual. The Rams picked up a win at 133 lbs, but the Duhawks won the next match as junior
Nosa Egbon (141 lbs) earned the Purple and Gold bonus points with his 14-4 major decision.
At 149 lbs, junior
Chase Fiser kept the wins rolling with a 10-3 victory, which was followed by a big pin by junior
Eric Kinkaid (157 lbs) in 0:43. Back-to-back tech falls by junior
Dustin Bohren (16-1 at 165 lbs) and
Zeb Gnida (15-0 at 174 lbs) clinched the dual for Loras.
Cornell won the last three matches at 184 lbs, 197 lbs and Hwt, but it was too little too late as the Purple and Gold improved to 3-1 on the season.
The Duhawks wrap up the first half of the season as they travel to Nashville, Tenn. next Saturday, Dec. 21 for the Gator Boots Duals.
