CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The No. 17 Loras College Duhawks wrestling team began its postseason journey on Thursday afternoon by competing in the first day of the NCAA Lower Midwest Regional Championships at the Alliant Energy Power House.

As a team, the Duhawks sit in fifth place in the team standings with 79 points heading into tomorrow's action. Individually, seven wrestlers have advanced to Friday's competitions, including Aiden Evans (133 lbs.), Jalen Schropp (141 lbs.), Erick Kinkaid (149 lbs.), Gabe Fiser (157 lbs.), Dustin Bohren (165 lbs.), Zeb Gnida (174 lbs.), and Kam Royster (184 lbs.).

Bohren, Gnida, Kinkaid, and Schropp will all be competing in their respective weight classes in the regional semifinals, while Evans, Fiser, and Royster are competing in third round of the consolation bracket.

Weigh-ins begin tomorrow at 8 a.m. before doors open for fans at 9 a.m. Action on the mat gets underway at 10 a.m. with the start of the regional semifinals and the third round of the consolation bracket.
