La Crosse, Wis. - The No. 17 Loras College Duhawk wrestling team concluded their season at the 2024 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships with all three of their qualifiers finishing as All-Americans.
Sophomore
Eric Kinkaid (149-lbs) went 4-2 with a fourth place finish to complete his season. After losing a close match in the first round against the fouth seed, Kinkaid rattled off four-straight wins to reach the third place match. There, he'd drop a 7-2 decision to the sixth seed. Only a sophomore, Kinkaid is already a two-time National qualifier and an All-American halfway through his college career. Look for him to be back next year in the hunt for a national title.
Another sophomore,
Dustin Bohren (165-lbs), went 4-3 with a seventh-place finish to end his season. Bohren won his pigtail match before losing on a last-second takedown to the No. 8 seed in the first round. However, he'd rebound by winning his next match to reach the blood round. In a rematch from the semifinals at the Lower Midwest Regionals, Bohren avenged his loss, beating the seventh-seed, 4-3. After another close loss in overtime to the third seed, he avenged his loss from the first round, flipping the result in his favor, 9-6, to win his last match of the season. Like Kinkaid, Bohren is only a sophomore and impressively placed in his first trip to Nationals.
Senior
Zeb Gnida (174-lbs) went 4-1 with a third-place finish to conclude his season. As the sixth seed, Gnida won his first round by an 11-0 major decision before upsetting the third seed in overtime, 9-6, to reach the semifinals. A loss to the second seed sent him to the consolation semifinals where he beat the No. 8 seed by a close 10-9 decision. In the third-place match, Gnida won 7-2 against the fifth seed to claim bronze. Like Bohren, it's also Gnida's first time at Nationals, making it notable to see him make the semifinals and battle back from a tough loss to get the next best thing.
As a team, the Duhawks finished in the top 10, claiming 9th place with 34 points. In only Coach
Jeren Glosser's second season as head coach, it's remarkable for him to end the season with 3 All-Americans and a top-10 team finish. The future is certainly bright for the Purple and Gold.  Â
