PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Ali Sabet and Myles Barry scored 14 points each behind a strong first nine minutes of play, but No. 11 University of Wisconsin-Platteville mounted a comeback and pulled out with an 81-67 victory over No. 20 Loras College in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Regional Final on Saturday night at Williams Fieldhouse.

"I'm really thankful, and we're really blessed to have a great group," said head coach Chris Martin. "I've really loved coaching this group as much as I've enjoyed coaching any group I ever have."

The Pioneers (25-6), which trailed by 10 twice in the opening frame, closed out the final 11:15 of the half on a 26-9 run to lead it 36-28 at the break.

"Give them credit, they turned up the pressure and made it harder," said Martin. "I thought our guys were still fighting and still running the same specials. We had the same strategy and thought process. They started to play a little bit more physical and there weren't as many whistles. It just took us a little bit to respond."

The Platteville offense, which didn't score its first points until nearly four minutes into play, began to knock down shots in the second half that ultimately gave them a double-digit advantage. Multiple runs by Loras to cut the deficit to single digits were met with runs by Platteville.

"We were doing the right things, for the most part," remarked Martin. "Yes, we could tweak, get better, and do some different things. If some balls bounced the other way like they did last night, it's a tied game and we're feeling okay. I was really happy overall with the way our guys played."

The Duhawks got within six (66-60) with 6:39 to play, but the Pioneers would go on to close it out on a 15-7 run in the Round of 32.

Gavin Sarvis scored 10 points, while Jackson Molstead had eight. Tyler Bass, Molstead, and Barry each recorded six rebounds to lead the team.
