DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College men's soccer team faced off against Concordia University Wisconsin for the first time in program history Wednesday night. The Duhawks took round one by a score of 2-1.
 
Loras (3-1-1) wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. At the 10:43 minute mark in the first half, Dani Galiana Torres scored the game's opening goal thanks to a pass off the foot of Reed Miklavcic. Concordia University Wisconsin (0-2-1) responded and scored the equalizing goal in the 37^th minute as Kyle Paler put one in the back of the net off an assist from Sam Butterfield.
 
After the Duhawks were awarded a penalty kick in the 85^th minute, Miklavcic took advantage and scored the game's deciding goal.
 
Loras shined on offense, outshooting the Falcons 18-7, putting 13 shots on goal, to the Falcons two.
 
Ben Krogman recorded one save in 90 minutes of action.
 
Up Next: Loras will travel to St. Peter, Minn. to take on Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday Sept. 15. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
