DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's soccer team continued its winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Marian University on Saturday afternoon.
The Duhawks controlled much of the game, keeping the ball in Sabres territory. Loras (5-0-0) totaled 35 shots, 21 of which were on goal compared to one off target shot by Marian (2-4-0).
The first goal of the game did not come until the 52:10-minute mark, when
Savannah Johnson put the ball into the back of the net, off an assist by
Belle Johnson. The sister-to-sister play put the Duhawks up 1-0.
The Purple and Gold extended the lead to 2-0 with a goal at the 80:48-minute mark when
Lauren Riggle netted her second goal of the season off an assist by
Reagan Lindsay.
Kyndal Kells and the Loras defense were solid yet again, helping the Duhawks maintain their unblemished record and tally their fifth shutout of the season so far.
