DECORAH, Iowa– The Loras College women's tennis team fell 7-0 to Luther College on Tuesday afternoon.
In the doubles matches,
Mary Breitbach and
Dorothy Deans secured a 6-3 win over Allie Christensen and Julia Moreno at the No. 1 spot, scoring the only win of the evening for the Duhawks.
Caroline Hutchinson and
Leia Papanicholas were swept at No. 2 doubles, while
Ellie Kalina and
Alexis Tatum met a similar fate at the No. 3 spot.
In singles play, Breitbach competed at the No. 1 spot with Lena Lichau, but fell short by scores of 6-3, 4-6 and 7-10. At No. 2 singles, Deans fell to Montserrat Ramirez by scores of 7-6 (7-3) and 6-1. Papanicholas fell to Abby Ostermann by scores of 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 3 spot, which mirrored the score that Tatum finished with against Liselot van Den Broek at No. 6 singles. In the No. 4 spot, Hutchinson lost to Riley O'Donnell 6-2, 6-0, while Kalina came up short at No. 5 singles, falling to Christensen 6-3, 6-2.
