CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Three Loras College student-athletes earned American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Athlete of the Week honors across two sports, the league office announced Monday.

In football, a pair of Duhawks picked up their first career weekly awards following a 31-28 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan. Will Speltz was named the Defensive Player of the Week after recording a game-high 14 tackles, including five solo stops, and all four of Loras' sacks. The Rockford, Illinois, native anchored the Duhawk defense in the road win.

Aiden Konig earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors after going a perfect 4-for-4 on PATs and sealing the win with a game-winning 37-yard field goal as time expired.

Up next: The Purple and Gold return home to host No. 8 Wartburg College on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Rock Bowl. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

On the pitch, Katie Callahan was named the A-R-C Offensive Player of the Week for women's soccer after a standout week for the Duhawks. Callahan scored twice in a 5-0 win over Luther and added an assist on the game-winning goal in a 3-0 shutout of Simpson.

Up next: Loras hosts Coe College on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Rock Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
