WAVERLY, Iowa — The unbeaten Loras College women's soccer team rolled to a 3-0 win over Wartburg College on Saturday at Salzwedel Field.
The Duhawks (13-0-1, 6-0-0 A-R-C) scored all three goals in the first half to secure their sixth straight conference victory.
Defender
Ivy Wessel opened the scoring in the 25th minute, finishing a corner kick from
Mayte Navejas.
Morgan Lyon added her first goal of her career six minutes later, and
Chiara DiVito capped the scoring in the 37th minute off an assist from
Emily Bowe.
Hannah Fedinec made four saves to earn her 13
th shutout of the year, as Loras outshot Wartburg (6-8-1, 2-2-1 A-R-C) 22-8 and held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks.
The win keeps the Duhawks atop the A-R-C standings heading into the final stretch of conference play.
Up next: The Purple and Gold will host the University of Dubuque on Wednesday, Oct. 22. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
