DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Loras College football team closed out its 2025 season with a 45-12 victory over the Norse of Luther College on Satuday afternoon inside the Rock Bowl.
Â
It was an all-around affair this afternoon as Loras (3-7 OVERALL, 3-5 A-R-C) beat Luther (0-10, 0-8) on senior day.
Â
Loras opened the game on offense with a
Carter Cahill rush for 11 yards. After a six-yard reception by
Hunter Guyon, Jacob Richman found
Brock Couch for a 12-yard reception. Two plays later, Richman connected with
Sai McWilliams over the middle of the field for a 33-yard catch, down to the Norse four. Cahill had his number called two more times, starting with a three-yard rush, followed by a one-yard rushing touchdown.
Â
After the Loras defense forced a three-and-out, the offense was back out looking to extend the lead. On second-and-11, Richtman delivered a strike to
Ian Broshous for 14 yards and a first down. Just two plays later, on third down, McWilliams hauled in another pass, this time for 27 yards. The Duhawks found themselves facing another third-and-long situation as Richtman connected with
Jimmy Peterson for 12 yards, and a yard shy of the end zone. The Duhawks were unable to capitalize as Cahill got bottled up on the one-yard line.
Â
Loras' defense forced another three-and-out, giving the offense another chance to put points on the board. The drive started with an eight-yard rush by
Myles Schumacher. Guyon then pulled in a Richtman pass for 23 yards, down to the Norse 18. Two plays later, Schumacher bounced a run to the outside for 16 yards, and another Loras touchdown.
Â
After a missed field goal, the Duhawks started their next drive at their own 37. Following a one-yard rush by
Isaiah Washington, Richtman and McWilliams connected for another chunk play, this time for 21 yards. The Duhawks continued to march down the field, and five plays later, they found themselves at the Norse 30. On third-and-11, Richtman found his checkdown in Cahill for a gain of nine, leading to a fourth-and-short opportunity. After a penalty on the Purple and Gold, the drive stalled out, and
Aiden Konig booted a 30-yard field goal to put the Duhawks up by 17.
Â
After the Loras defense forced their third three-and-out, the Duhawk offense looked to put the game out of reach. But this time it was the Norse defense coming up with a interception to set up a Luther touchdown.
Â
The Duhawks' offense went right back to work looking to respond to Luther's touchdown.
The drive opened up with six consecutive rushes for Schumacher, who racked up 26 yards. On second-and-10,
Avery Tuttle caught a pass in between two Norse defenders for 31 yards. On second-and-eight, Richtman used his legs to scramble for 12 yards and a fresh set of downs. Just two plays later, Richtman led a pass in front of Broshous in the endzone for his first touchdown of the afternoon.
Â
Despite knocking on the door late in the half, Luther couldn't put the ball into the end zone, as the Duhawks led 24-6 at the break.
Â
After both teams punted to open the second half, Loras was able to find the endzone thanks to a defensive pass interference call against the Norse. Cahill took advantage of the penalty, rushing for his second touchdown of the game.
Â
After yet another three and out by the Norse, Broshous capped off a seven-play scoring drive for his second touchdown of the game.
Â
The ensuing drive for Luther ended in a
Micah Hendricks interception that set up an eight-play drive that ended in a Guyon touchdown.
Â
After forcing a Loras punt, Liljedahl and the Norse wanted to get on the board one last time. The Norse wound up putting together an 18-play drive that drove 84 yards for a touchdown, as Owen Schmitz took the QB power three yards into the end zone. Luther wound up recovering the following onside kick, but were unable to score for a final time, as the Duhawks walked away with a 45-12 victory in the final game of the year.
Â
Jacob Richtman completed 25 of his 28 passes for 299 yards and three touchdowns.
Carter Cahill's 76 yards and two touchdowns were enough to lead the Duhawks on the ground.
Henry Ivers led all Duhawk defenders with seven tackles, four tackles for loss, and two sacks.
Â
Â
This victory concludes the Duhawks' 2025 season.
