DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Loras College women's wrestling team fell to Buena Vista, 24–20, on Thursday evening in its first home dual of the season.
Loras opened the night with a forfeit win at 103 pounds from
Kylie Loffer, but Buena Vista answered with a pin at 110, where Harley Tobin defeated
Emely Mejia Garcia in 1:52. The Duhawks regained the lead at 117 with another forfeit, this one awarded to
Bailey Welu.
After a double forfeit at 124,
Alyssa Seippel secured Loras' lone contested victory of the night, earning a fall over Jaiden McLaren in 1:21 at 131 pounds. Buena Vista then took control, earning a technical fall from Savannah Freifeld over
Grace Patterson at 138 and a forfeit at 145.
The Beavers added two more pins, Destiny Kolheim over
Izabella Peters in 30 seconds at 160 and Stephanie Sorsby over
Lucy Read in 4:19 at 180 to extend their lead. Loras closed the dual with a forfeit win at 207 for
Bella Baer.
