Loras College Names Steve Reilly as Next Head Golf Coach

November 6, 2025

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Director of Athletics Denise Udelhofen ('90) has announced the hiring of Steve Reilly as the next head coach of the Loras College men's and women's golf teams.

"We are excited to welcome Coach Reilly to Loras Athletics," Udelhofen said. "His extensive golf experience will strengthen our men's and women's programs and provide stability. As a respected mentor in Dubuque, he will guide student-athletes on and off the course. We look forward to continued growth in Duhawk golf."

Reilly brings 20 years of golf experience with him to Loras with his last stint being in 2012 at Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo, Iowa where he served as the head golf professional for eight years. Prior to Sunnyside, Reilly made stops at Clinton Country Club from 1993-2004, Elmcrest Country Club from 1990-1992, Thunder Hills Country Club, and Wildcat Run Country Club, all as a golf professional.

"This is something that I've always wanted to do," Reilly said. "I can't wait to work with the men and women to make them the best players they can be and move the program forward."

Reilly graduated from the University of Iowa in 1988 with a degree in marketing. While at Iowa, he was four-year letter winner as a member of the men's golf team and earned All-Big Ten Conference academic honors his senior year. In March of 1990, Reilly attended his first year of PGA Business School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he finished in the top 10% of his class. He then went to Naples, Fla. for the second stage of the PGA Business School before successfully completing the PGA Business School in 1995 in Oakbrook, Ill.

Reilly will begin his duties as golf coach on Nov. 10.
