GREENSBORO, N.C. –
Anna Durak competed at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Greensboro, N.C. this past weekend inside the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
Durak began her meet on Wednesday where she swam in the 200-yard IM, finishing in 12
th place with a time of 2:03.57. Her time is a new American Rivers Conference record.
The Hickory, N.C. native used her off day on Thursday to recover and prepare for back-to-back days of competition in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke that she would swim on Friday and Saturday.
In the 100-yard backstroke prelims on Friday morning, Durak swam a 55.36, qualifying her for the event finals later that evening. Durak finished third with a time of 54.66, earning her All-American honors. She is the first A-R-C swimmer to achieve All-American status since it became a championship sport three years ago.
Durak wrapped up her collegiate swimming career with a ninth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.56 on Saturday evening.
She concluded her time in the Purple and Gold by setting three new team records in each of her events.
Durak earned the Duhawks 30 team points, which placed Loras in 22
nd place out of 39 teams.
