NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has unveiled its week six National Ratings Index, with the Loras women's team securing a place in the rankings for the sixth straight week. The women climbed to No. 6, while the men's team reentered the Top 25 at No. 22.
The Duhawk women recently claimed their fourth consecutive American Rivers Conference Indoor Championship title, earning All-Conference honors in 13 events, including three relays and five individual victories. Loras, ranked No. 6, edged out No. 11 Wartburg College by just four points to claim the top spot, finishing with 195.50 points.
On the men's side, Loras holds the No. 22 ranking after placing third at the A-R-C Indoor Championships. The team secured All-Conference accolades in eight events, featuring two relays and three individual titles, finishing with 117 points behind No. 21 University of Dubuque and No. 9 Wartburg.
Individually,
Emma Seipel leads the nation in the long jump with a mark of 6.11 meters.
Caitlyn Cox ranks second nationally in the weight throw at 19.36 meters, while
Sara Hoskins sits third in the high jump at 1.72 meters. The women's team boasts six performances ranked in the national top 10.
For the men, three Duhawks hold top-10 national marks.
DreAnthony Jackson set a school record in the shot put with a throw of 17.25 meters, ranking fifth in the country.
Derik Bunten is seventh in the long jump at 7.30 meters, while
Joe Franke holds the eighth-fastest time in the 800 meters at 1:50.91.
Up Next: Loras competes one last time before the NCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships. Select athletes will travel to Waverly, Iowa, for the Wartburg Qualifier on Friday, March 8, and Saturday, March 9.
