PLATTEVILLE, Wis. –
Isaac Bourne etched his name into the Loras College record books over the weekend, headlining the Duhawks' performance at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Invitational with a school-record run.
Bourne, a junior, led the way Friday night by breaking a 22-year-old program record in the 5,000-meter run, clocking a time of 14:25.20.
Saturday featured a series of standout performances for the Duhawks.
Carlo Dannenfelser and
DreAnthony Jackson both moved up to fifth all-time in Loras history in their respective events. Dannenfelser ran 3:51.44 in the 1,500 meters, while Jackson placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 16.55 meters.
Rei'Shaun Spires improved his own mark in the triple jump, reaching 13.80 meters to strengthen his position in the program's top 10. Freshman
Zeke Irving added a major personal best in the 400 meters, finishing in 49.36 seconds.
Joe Franke and
Matt Kruse capped off the weekend with event wins. Franke took first in the 800 meters with a time of 1:51.89, while Kruse claimed the 400-meter hurdles in 53.87.
Up next: The Duhawks return home to host the Easter Midweek meet on Tuesday, April 18 at Finnegan Family Track.
