Segraves Makes History With Gold Glove Honor for Loras Baseball

June 18, 2025

GREENSBORO, N.C. — For the first time in program history, a Loras College baseball player has earned the prestigious ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award.

Sophomore second baseman Trevor Segraves was named to the NCAA Division III Gold Glove Team by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Rawlings on Wednesday afternoon. Segraves, a native of Valencia, Calif., started all 40 games for the Duhawks this season and posted a .994 fielding percentage, committing just one error in 164 total chances.

Segraves recorded a season-high five putouts in a March 2 matchup against Augustana College and launched his first collegiate home run on March 29 against Wartburg College. He also tallied four games with five assists, including two contests against cross-town rival University of Dubuque.

Over two seasons with Loras, Segraves holds a career fielding percentage of .983 with 128 putouts and was involved in 23 double plays this season alone.

The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Awards are selected by ABCA coaches committees at each level: NCAA Div. I, II & III, NAIA, NJCAA Div. I, II & III, Pacific Association Division, and High School.

The ABCA/Rawlings Award Program is one of the most comprehensive in all of sports, honoring All-America and Gold Glove teams in nine divisions of amateur baseball as well as All-Region teams in five divisions.

The ABCA/Rawlings All-America teams date back to 1949 starting with one collegiate All-America team. Other divisions subsequently added until the current total of nine was reached. The first ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were recognized in 2007, making this the 18th year the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Awards have been presented in the collegiate and high school ranks (no awards were presented in 2020 due to COVID-19).
