DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Loras College Department of Athletics and Director of Athletics Denise Udelhofen ('90) are excited to announce the new class of inductees into the Loras College Athletics Hall of Fame as six individuals and one team will be recognized as part of the Class of 2025.

The college's class includes Kevin Cavers ('14 – Men's Soccer), Katie (Langmeier) Schweigert ('14 – Women's Basketball/Track & Field), Kellie (Klein) Ricke ('13 – Softball), Chris Schaefer ('99 – Men's Cross Country/Track & Field), Tom Kult ('96 – Men's Track & Field/Football), Bob Bucko ('73-'78, '10-'19 – Football), along with the 1976 club football team.

Below is a closer look at each member of the 2025 Hall of Fame class:

Kevin Cavers, Men's Soccer – '14
Cavers was one of the best midfielders to suit up for the Loras College men's soccer program.

The former team captain saw action in 88 matches, totaling 16 goals and 26 assists in his four years with the Purple and Gold. The Arlington Heights, Ill. native helped lead the Duhawks to three Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) regular season titles and four tournament titles over the course of his time at Loras.

Cavers concluded his career as a three-time All-Conference, three-time All-Region and two-time All-American honoree, in addition to being named the IIAC's MVP twice following his junior and senior seasons.

Katie (Langmeier) Schweigert, Women's Basketball/Track & Field – '14
Schweigert was a force to be reckoned with on the basketball court and the track from 2010-14.

The Cuba City, Wis. native was a three-year captain of the women's basketball team who left her name all over the record books. Schweigert totaled 706 rebounds and 201 steals over the course of her career, which sits third and fourth all-time, respectively. She also ranks in the top 10 in single season marks, sitting seventh in rebounding with 244 and third in made free throws at 129. Schweigert concluded her time on the court as an IIAC MVP, a two-time IIAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time IIAC Academic All-Conference selection. She also earned recognition from D3hoops.com as a Second Team All-West Region honoree.

On the track, Schweigert was a three-time conference champion and national qualifier in the high jump. She ranks third all-time in the outdoor record book, clearing 1.69-meters in 2013, and seventh in the indoor record book, clearing 1.64-meters that same year. Schweigert finished her collegiate track and field career as an United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Academic All-American.

Kellie (Klein) Ricke, Softball – '13
Ricke was a star on the softball diamond for the Duhawks from 2009-13 and continues to shine 12 years later.

The Dubuque, Iowa native was a four-time IIAC All-Conference honoree, earning All-Region and All-American status following her junior season. The pitcher/first baseman became the all-time career home runs leader with 24 after sending eight over the fence during her final season donning the Purple and Gold.

Ricke returned to the dugout as an assistant coach for four seasons following her graduation. Today, Ricke is a special education teacher at Washington Middle School where she will be entering her 13th year this fall. In 2022, she was named Teacher of the Year by the Dubuque Community School District.

Chris Schaefer, Men's Cross Country/Track & Field – '99
Schaefer, a five-time All-American, made his presence known throughout the collegiate running community from 1995-99.

The Munich, Germany native earned back-to-back All-American honors in cross country during his junior and senior seasons, finishing in 26th with a time of 25:56 in 1997 and 35th in 1998 with a time of 25:49.

Schaefer carried that competitive mentality from the course to the track where he finished in fifth and sixth place respectively in the 1500-meters at the indoor national meet in 1998 and 1999. He saved his best performance for last, finishing third in the same event at the outdoor national meet in 1999.

Tom Kult, Men's Track & Field/Football – '96
Nearly 30 years later, Kult is still one of the best shot putters to ever compete for the Purple and Gold.

The New Berlin, Wis. native sits third in indoor program history with a 16.62-meter throw and fourth on the outdoor list with a 16.68-meter throw. His 16.62-meter throw at the 1996 NCAA Indoor Championships earned him national runner-up status.

After his time as a track and field and football student-athlete, Kult returned to campus to help coach the next generation of Duhawks. From 1997-2013, Kult served as a throws coach for the track and field program, where he guided Dana Klemm (1) and Sara Nauman (1) to two shot put national titles.

The four-year member of the Duhawk football team joined the gridiron sideline as a running back and linebacker coach for six seasons as well.

This past summer was Kult's 10th year as director of the Loras All-Sports Camp. He has been a part of the camp for 33 years, starting as a counselor in 1993, while also holding roles as the assistant director, program director and head counselor.

Bob Bucko, Football – '73-'78, '10- '19
For 16 years, you knew where to find Bucko on a Saturday in the fall - the Duhawk sideline.

Bucko served the Loras football program in a variety of roles from 1973-78 and then again from 2010-19. During the 1976 season, Bucko led the club team to an 8-2 record, earning them a share of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference title. As head coach, Bucko produced eight All-Conference honorees and outscored opponents 293-103.

1976 Club Football Team
The Duhawks posted an 8-2 record, where they outscored their opponents 293-103 with their record-setting offense. The team was led by eight All-Conference honorees who helped bring home the only conference championship title to campus in program history.
